Christmas Wishes

I blinked, and here we are at the end of September.
It's not just me is it?
This month has zooooomed by.
Time to crack on with my Christmas cards.

Here's my entry for this week's Less Is More challenge,
where the theme is MOSTLY WORDS

I  stamped my sentiments onto speech bubbles and then tried to match up a
little, christmas image for each one.
I kinda like the way this card turned out, and it's so easy to put together,
it might end up being one of my 'production line' cards.

speech bubble dies - clearly besotted 'you said it'
stamps - WPlus9 'heartfelt holidays' with matching dies for the stocking and house.
the mugs are fussy cut!
memento ink - new sprout/rose bud      versa color ink - sky blue

Make A Wish

Hey there crafters...
hope you're all enjoying the weekend.

Today I'm sharing a birthday card with you.

I'd like to enter this card for a couple of challenges.

My first thought, when I saw the sketch, was candles.
I made mine by rolling my dp around a thin paint brush, and adding a little twine 'wick'.

...and secondly TIME OUT , where the challenge is stamping,
with an optional twist of APPLES.
I don't have any apple stamps, so I used this cute apple dp from Pink Petticoat.

Supplies.
Digital Papers - Pink Petticoat 'Apples' / 'Chevrons' / 'Stripes'
Clearly Besotted Basic Banners - Stamps and Dies.
Whispy Twine.

Cupboard Love

Afternoon everyone.  No card from me today.
I'm just sharing a little project that has been taking me away from my craft room.

We nearly got rid of this cupboard when we moved house.
It's so ridiculously solid and heavy, that it takes 4 men to move it!
When we saw that it was a perfect fit in the kitchen,
between the wall and the kitchen units, we decided to keep it.
I have been itching to give it a re-vamp though -
and finally got around to it.

It's taken me 2 weeks to get to this stage,
with 5 coats of Crown Antique White Eggshell.
It's not perfect, and the paint can chip slightly when you slam a drawer shut,
but it all adds to the 'shabby chic' look.
I'm really pleased with it though, and it brightens up that corner of the kitchen.
Now, I'm on the look out for something else to paint!!

What's Your Tipple?

A while ago, I went through my small, stamp collection and
put aside those stamps, that I thought didn't really fit my new CAS style.
I intended to sell them here on my blog, but never got round to it!

Here's one of those stamps that has had a reprieve :-)

I stamped my penguin over the edge of a card panel, dusted off my Copics and got colouring.
The sentiment was added to a die cut speech bubble and then I just
scattered a few sequins and gems.

It just goes to show that, even if you're making CAS cards,
you should take another look at your older stamps.

Challenges.
ABC Xmas - Something Festive
Christmas At Sweet Stampin' - Christmas Critters
Supplies.
Stamp - Wild Rose Studio 'Pickle With Tipple' coloued with Copics.
Speech Bubble Die - Clearly Besotted
Sentiment - Wplus9 'Heartfelt Holidays'   Gold Stickles     Sequins

Nordic Style

Hey there,
here's my attempt at a Nordic style card for

I used some of my smaller stamps to create a repeat pattern, and
my first thought was to simply add this stamped panel to the card base,
but it looked so flat like that.

In the end, I stamped my sentiment onto the card base and  then cut my patterned piece in 2
and added it top and bottom.
For a little more interest I re-stamped the stockings and mugs, fussy cut them,
(shame there's no die for these little pieces)
and attached them with foam pads.

Supplies.
Stamps - Wplus9 'Heartfelt Holidays' /  Papermania 'Tweet' / Stampendous 'Yule Penguins'
Sentiment Stamp - Pink Gem Designs
Memento Ink - Rose Bud  / Bahama Blue

Our House, In The Middle Of Our Street

Hey there,
today I'm sharing my card for the CASE Study Challenge.
I know, at first glance, it does NOT look like the inspiration card,
but stick with it, I can explain ;-)

All I have in the way of 'kraft' paper are some old card blanks.
I got these out and tried stamping my wreath in white ink.
Ughhh...   what a mess!
It's surprising how angry I can get over a little pot of white ink!!

So, that idea was ditched and I went back to my smooth, white card and coloured ink.
I (loosely) followed the layout of the inspiration card.
I don't have any feather stamps, so I added a little robin to represent those.

Supplies.
Wplus9 'Heartfelt Holidays' Stamps and Dies.
Bird, Stamp and Die, from the Hero Arts 'Chandeliers' Set.
Memento Inks - Grey Flannel, Rose Bud, Toffee Crunch. Papermania Green Ink.
Gems.

Keep Off The Grass

Hey there,
I made this cute, little hedgie card for this week's CASology Challenge
where the cue word is
GRASS

Usually, I cut my 'grass' pieces into random shapes, with scissors, but I wanted a cleaner look for this CAS card, so I die cut my papers with an oval nestie. Then I attached them to the card panel and trimmed off the edges. It's much neater that way and gives you that little embossed edge along the top.

The hedgie is coloured with Copics and fussy cut and the sentiment is a little snippet of cream card,
stamped with the sentiment and glittered along the edges.

Supplies.
Stamps - Penny Black 'Critter Party'  Personal Impressions 'Mixed Sentiments'
DP - First Edition 'Bird Song'     Memory Box Cloud Dies
Memento Ink 'Bamboo Leaves    Glamour Dust     Copics

If in doubt add some sparkle.

I can't imagine I will ever tire of sequins.
Despite the fact that I end up covered in glue, whilst they ping all over the place -
I love them.

So, here's my entry for the CAS on Sunday Chalenge - Sequins Celebration.

I used a little, round, balloon die to cut the 'bauble' into my card panel -
added the line with a black pen, attached a die cut bow and stamped the sentiment.

Normally, I attach my sequins with glue, but here I put strips of DS tape onto my base card
and stuck the sequins to that. I'm not sure how secure they will be like that -
but they seem stuck on pretty good for now.

Supplies.
Balloon Die, Bow Stamp & Die - Clearly Besotted 'Make A Wish'
Sentiment - Catslife Press.    Sequins.

Winter Moon

Whe I saw this week's MOON sketch from AAA Cards,
I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
A little snow scene, with santa and his sleigh, rising above the moon.
I searched everywhere for that Santa stamp.   It appears I don't own it!!  Ha ha!

Here's what I ended up with.

I cut out a 'moon' from my black card and added it to my base card.
Then I layered up my landscape pieces - edging them with glamour dust.
All the layers are added with foam pads. so the card has more depth than the photo shows.

I thought this sentiment was perfect for the little winter, house scene.

Challenges.

AAA Cards.  -  'Moon' Sketch

Supplies.
Memory Box Landscape Die.  Nestie Circle Die.  Glamour Dust.

WTF? Who's turning 50?

Hey there,
no card from me today - I'm in recovery!!

I turned  50  this weekend.... arghhhh!

Maria and Annabel planned the most amazing, suprise weekend,
which included lots of laughing, some delicious food and maybe one or two bottles of fizz :-)

Mr Kiss did good :-)

Now I need to lie down in a dark room for the rest of the week.

A Hot Chocolate Kind Of Day

Hey there...
just popping by today with a quick card for the CASology challenge.
where the cue word this week is
UNDER

Hmmm...  this was a tricky one.
In the end, I went for some simple stamping UNDER the ribbon.

I stamped a little bit of greenery and then added the die cut mugs,
one of which is popped up on foam pads.
A simple sentiment and a touch of glitter finished everything off nicely.

 Supplies.
Stamps and Dies - WPlus9 Heartfelt Holidays.
Stickles Glitter..       Striped Grosgrain Ribbon

If you're a bird, I'm a bird

Here's one of those cards that kind of went it's own way.
Some of them have a habit of doing that, don't they?

My starting point was Lisa's card at The Cutting Edge Challenge (see below).
I stamped my leaves and blooms in various colours, then added a chipboard bird and some die cut blooms.
Those tiny flower dies are sooo tricky to line up, that I ended up just doing a few of them.
( I'm going to hold my breath and still enter for the challenge, but I completely understand if you don't think there's enough die-cutting going on there and need to delete my entry!!)

Oh, and after all that flower arranging I managed to completely mess up my centre sentiment,
so it had to be covered over with a strip of card and re-stamped.

Challenges.
The Cutting Edge Challenge -

Bunny Zoes's Crafts -  Summer Colours

Supplies.
Lawn Fawn - Penelopes Blossoms, Stamps & Dies.
Sentiment - Fizzy Moon, Wish Upon
Memento Dew Drop Ink - New Sprout, Tangelo, Dandelion, Angel Pink, Rose Bud
