Deck The Halls

Happy Halloween everyone.
Just a quick post from me tonight,
as I wait for the witches and warlocks to come trick or treating.

I finally found some time to play along at Less is More.
This week the theme is to add some string or twine.

It's really dark here in the afternoons so,
I have been experimenting with my photos,
using coloured paper behind my card.
I think it helps to make it stand out more.
What do you think?

For the challenge I used this lovely, whispy, red twine -
using a little sequin in the centre of the bow.

Less Is More - Use String Or Twine
Simon Says - Anything Goes
Addicted To Stamps And More - Clean And Simple
Cute Card Thursday - Sparkles

Stamp - Lili of the Valley, coloureed with Copics and Glamour Dust

Men, can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em!

I find it so difficult to make cards for boys/men,
so I am always on the lookout for 'guy' images.
This snowboarder is a terrific freebie I found at Bird's Cards

I started out, as I usually do, with a plain white panel to fix to my card base.
I think in future, I need to attach this panel with foam tape,
to give everything a little more depth.
I stamped some random, pale blue snowflakes
and added a strip of DP and my sentiment.

The snowboarder is coloured with Copics, fussy cut and
attached with foam pads.
I also added a touch of glossy accents here and there.

Challenges.
CAS(E) this Sketch - #51
Aud Sentiments - Christmas Sentiments
Craftyhands - Anything GoesThis is their very first challenge, so head on over and check them out ;-)

Deer in the Headlights

I couldn't resist using my cute, little reindeer again.
This time, I just used his head, so that I could play along

I added plenty of bling, in the form of glamour dust, around the white square layer.
It's very sparkly IRL!
The sentiment was made on my computer -
it does look a bit wonky in the picture, but trust me, it is on straight.

Challenges.

Team Rudolph

TGI Friday  !!
It's been a busy, crafting week here.
I would LOVE to show you what I've been making,
but I just never know when my girls might come snooping -
so I'm keeping it buttoned!!   :-)

Here's another card for the Christmas pile.

I played along at my favourite sketch challenge - Seize the Sketch
just rotating the sketch.
I was so thrilled to be their A+ winner last week - thanks ladies   xxx
Anyhoo, I like how this one turned out, so I will probably make a few of these.

Is this the cutest reindeer ever?
He was a freebie from Pixie Dust Studio
He's coloured with Copics, a touch of white pen and some glitter on his collar.

It's all about frosty mornings

Crikey, it's brass monkeys here today! I have given in and put the heating on!
Hubby is away in Spa, driving around the Formula 1 circuit, and I have been overdosing on Pinterest.
My girls have decided we are having a 'hand-made' Christmas,
so if you have any ideas for presents, let me know.

Here's another Christmas card for the pile...

I followed the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch
changing the speech bubbles for snowflakes.
I stamped my snowflakes with coloured inks, die cut them with circle nesties and
popped them up with foam pads.

I know sequins are everywhere right now - and they do look pretty,
so I bought these silver ones at my local sewing shop.
Just a couple of questions though -
1. does anyone sell packs of multi colours and
2. what do you stick yours on with ?
I used tiny glue dots - but that could get expensive!

You Had Me At Boo !

Afternoon everyone.
Autumn has well and truly arrived up here in Durham.
This morning, we raked up 4 large sacks of leaves from the lawn -
well, when I say 'we,'  I really mean Mr Kiss did all the manual work,
I was just there in a supervisory capacity ;-)

Halloween will be creeping up on us before we know it,
[did you see what I did there  :-) ]
so here is my 2nd card, using this cute trick or treater.

I followed the sketch over at Seize the Sketch
If you haven't visited them before, go and check them out.
It's great to see how everyone interprets the sketch in their own style.

As ever, I used my favourite chevron DP.
I think I need to bulk print this paper!!
My Halloween puppy is coloured with Copics, fussy cut
and attached with foam pads.

I didn't want my sentiment to take up too much room,
so I overlapped the letters a little bit and,
I kinda like how that turned out.

Crafty Calendar - Halloween
Stamping Sensations - All Creature Great and Small

Digi Stamp - CCDesigns, Halloween Puppy     Digi DP - Digi Design Essential, Digitally Smitten.
'Boo' - Die cut with Memory Box Alphabet Dies     Freckled Fawn Glitter Dew Drops

God loves a trier!

Damn it!
I was so pleased with myself, last week, to enter my BOO card over at LIM,
until I realised I had fallen foul of the challenge rules.
I really should learn to read the small print.
So, here's my second attempt - just a couple of problems
1. it's probably not CAS enough and
2. it's a day late!!!!
Ha ha!
God loves a trier.

I made a little snow scene with some pretty DP and my landscape die.
The cute LOTV bear is coloured with Copics and stickles glitter
(I also dotted some glitter on the pink DP)
and then he is popped up on foam pads.

Looking through my sewing box this week, I came across some bias binding
and wondered how I could use it on my cards.
It's a little thick for tying into a bow, so I experimented with stamping on it.
It works beautifully  - and the binding is only about 20p a metre.

Crafty Ribbons - Anything Goes with Ribbon

Loves Rubber Stamps - Anything Goes

Stamp - LOTV Presents for 2 coloured with Copics and Stickles glitter   DP - Dovecraft Christmas Fancy

A Hauntin' We Will Go

Hello crafters, just a quick post tonight to show you a Halloween card.

I followed the Less Is More sketch,  but cut a small slice from the bottom of my circle.
Not sure why I did that  - but I think it adds a little more interest!!
My Halloween pup was coloured with Copics, cut out and popped up on foam pads.
To stay on the CAS side I didn't add too much in the way of embellies - just a few random dots. They're not exactly where I wanted them to be, but once those little buggers touched the paper they were stuck fast!!!

Happy Haunting :-)
