Wedding Day Wishes

Hooray! The sun is shining.
And, here's a  little project I have been working on all week for our friends Mick and Debs,
who are tying the knot today.
Debs is like me, she's not a girly girl, so pink, flowers or hearts were not going to cut it.
I went with a more modern style and used grey and lemon.

Debs is book mad, like me she will read just about anything,
so from the outset I knew I wanted to make a 'book style' card,
following the great tutorial by Tina

My card is covered with digi papers and I made the congrats sentiment on my computer.
It's kept closed with a pretty, lemon stripe ribbon, tied in a bow.
This striped ribbon is my all time favourite - it's so gorgeous,
and comes in a range of colours and widths.
Is it crazy that I like to take my ribbon out and just look at it!
Please, tell me you do that too  ;-)

The stamp is Stamping Bella, Uptown Couple, coloured with Copics,
fussy cut and popped up on foam pads, to add some dimension.
I also added some of my fav. Glamour Dust for a touch of sparkle,
and scattered around some crystal gems.

Lastly, I made a little box for the card to fit into,
kept closed with a satin ribbon and pearl slider.

I'm really pleased with the end result.
It's not all hearts and flowers but I think it's kind of
understated girlie - what do you think?

Relax ... it's the summer

Family get togethers. Hen parties. Long Walks in the Country.
Picnics. Cooking. Window shopping. Kindle Fire.
                     Netflix.  Pub Lunches. Vet Visits.
Those are just a few of the things keeping me from my craft room this summer :-)

When I need to make a card poste-haste, I go in search of a sketch
and I found this one on a great new challenge blog  - Seize the Sketch
This was my first chance to play with my new Memento Dew Drop inks.
I think I am going to like them... a lot!
With a bit more practice I'm sure I will be able to produce a crisp, clear image ;-)
