Pearls and Glitter

I couldn't resist the 'pearls and glitter' challenge over at
A Spoon Full of Sugar
and I loved seeing all the gorgeous DT creations.
If you have any distress inks, you can use them on this challenge too.

Someone requested an 80th birthday card and I admit,
I was pretty stumped.
I tried to give this an antique feel, with the lace and pearls,
so I hope they like it.
I even tried distressing the edges of the paper, with a pair
of scissors, but I don't really know what I'm doing..lol*

Recipe:
Stamp - Jam Tilda from Magnolia, coloured with Copics,
and added stickles glitter.
Design Paper - Papermania Capsule Collection, Red Hot.
I punched the blooms from the DP, sprinkled them with stickles glitter
and added an adhesive pearl.
A fiskars lace punch was used for the edging.
Spacers and pearl brads from the Hobby House

Feeling Blue

I was really happy to be joining in with challenge over at
Just Cute Bears.
They have a lovely blog and it's so nice to see all the DT's adorable bears.
And then I realised - this isn't a bear is it??
It's a bunny... doh!!!
Cute though, right?

So instead I am entering this for the Pink Elephant Challenge,
where the theme is 'Ribbon'.
There is some stunning work from the DT over there,
so pop over, when you have a few minutes, and take a look.

Recipe:
Stamp - Daisy and Dandelion, Some bunny loves you,
coloured with Copics.
Design Paper - Daisy and Dandelion, Picnic Patch.
Lemon ribbon, card candy and sentiment from my stash.

Cupcake Mouse

Hope you all got chance to spend some time with your
loved ones, over the Valentine's weekend.
We had a lovely day, despite me managing to cut my finger
whilst preparing the dinner.
Ouch!!!
So, I am working one handed today!!

This is my entry for Sketch Saturday.
I used this cute stamp from Tina Wenke, coloured with Copics,
and with little, seed beads sewn onto the cupcake.
I also added some Glossy Accents to the balloons, ladybird and streamers.
For the embellies I used die cut balloons, again
covered with Glossy Accents.

Design Paper -
Parcels - Forever Friends, Party Time
Spots - Papermania, Sweet Nothings
Sentiment from Craftwork Cards

A Gem of a Challenge

Did you know that Pink Gem Designs has started their very own
challenge blog?
It's called A Gem of a Challenge, and will run monthly.
You can use any image on your creation and be in with the
chance to win a Top 3 badge.
Entries with a Pink Gem stamp will also be in with a chance
to win 2 Pink Gem stamps.
These are lovely stamps and I find them to be very versatile.

Here's my card for this month's challenge,
which is a great sketch with the option of using pink and gems.

I am into beads at the moment - so I am trying to find a way to add them
to all my cards...lol*
I think I may have gone overboard with this one. :-)
I added tiny crystal beads to Milly's wellies,
pearl beads on her coat for buttons and
I tried to make the silver bugle beads look like rain.

Recipe:
Stamp - Pink Gem Designs, Milly in Rain, coloured with Copics,
with wellies, coat and umbrella paper pieced.
Design Paper - Papermania, Capsule Collection, Red Hot.
Beads, blooms and adhesive pearls from my stash.
Sentiment Stamp - Personal Impressions

Black and Red Valentine

My girls are all grown up now, but I still like to make them a little Valentine's treat.
This year I have gone for some lovely, soft, black and red liquorice,
layered up in a kilner jar,
with a matching red and black note card.
This is perfect for the challenge over at
Creative Inspirations,
where the theme is 'Red & Black Valentine'.
I have recently seen people using beads on their projects,
so I thought I would give this a try.
After stamping the heart, I pierced random holes in it with a pin
(I'm sure you must be able to buy a tool that does this more easily!)
and then I stitched on some little, tiny red beads with invisible thread.
It doesn't photo very well, but the actual look is really good
and it's nice to add some texture to the card.

Recipe -
Black and red card.
Heart stamp was free from a magazine.
Sweet Wishes stamp from WOJ Summer 2009 collection
Red, glass seed beads
Invisible thread
Black Ribbon

Monochrome Girl

If you lean your head to the right,
and squint...
you're doing it aren't you??
then this card is perfectly straight!
I don't know what it is with me sometimes, I check things out,
I line then up, peel off the backing and woosh!!!
just at that last moment, some gremlin nudges my hand and makes
everything stick down skew-whiff.

I am entering this card for Totally Papercrafts,
which is a fun, new challenge blog.
This is their 2nd challenge and the theme is a recipe -
3 embellies, 2 papers, 1 image.
Go and check them out, they have a great DT
to give us lots of inspiration.

Recipe -
Stamp - GCS Artstamps, little Girl, coloured with Copics.
Design Paper - My Mind's Eye, Bloom & Grow
Fiskars lace punch used for border
Sqwuare Gems - Papermania Mosaics
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards.

Let a little sunshine in

Step away from the embellies !!!
I have gone a bit overboard here,
but I bought a Docraft Goody Bag, filled with all these gorgeous elements
and I wanted to use EVERYTHING !!!
Didn't quite manage it... lol**

I have used this week's fabulous sketch from Tanja,
over at Friday Sketchers.
They have a wonderful spoonsor this week -
Roberta from Prairie Fairy Digital Stamps.
She and her children draw some super cute images.

Recipe :
All the paper and embellies were in the Docraft Goody Bag.
You get a fabulous selection of colour co-ordinated paper, ribbon,
buttons, embellies, bows, flowers -
there's even a Daisy Dandelion stamp in there!

Stamp - The Greeting Farm, Miss Anya Dressy,
coloured with copics and paper pieced.

Monochrome Boy's Card and Wallet

I thought this week's great sketch over at
Allsorts Challenge
was just perfect for a boy's card.
And, as it's my nephew's birthday soon,
I made a matching wallet for his birthday money.
You can't go wrong with cold, hard cash for teenagers can you?
:-)
There's a DT call at the allsorts blog this week too -
so get your name down if you're interested.
I used my favourite papers of the moment,
the Papermania Capsule Collection - this one is 'Mono'.

I made the wallet by simply folding a piece of card in half.
On the bottom half I stitched down 2 thin pieces of card,
that will hold the cash in place.

To keep it closed, I cut a narrow strip off the top piece of card,
so that it neatly tucks behind a circle, held in place with a brad.
Recipe -
Stamp - from the WOJ Spring 09 collection,
coloured with Copics.
Design Paper - Papermania capsule collection Mono
Brads and sentiment from my stash.
