Pimms O'Clock

Evening everyone,
hope you have all had chance to enjoy the glorious sunshine.
No crafting for me today, we spent the day at the beach,
and now I am just sitting in the garden,
soaking up the last of the sun and enjoying a glass
(or two!) of Pimms.
I did just want to let you know my great news -
I was a lucky duck and won a $60 gift voucher with
Simon Says Stamp.
How amazingly generous is that.
If you haven't checked out their online store,
go and have a look.
They have loads of cool things in there.

Wilbur With Presents

Hello everyone,

I am still trying to get over the shock this morning,
of having to pay £300 to have my ice-maker fixed!!
It's one of those built into the fridge/freezer ones
and it's only a year old.

Anyhoo... here is my card for this week's
challenge over at
Simon Says.

The theme this week is 'Animals'

I have used one of my fab new digital downloads from
Pollycraft.
The doggy and the presents are on the same stamp,
but I cut out the presents and paper pieced them,
adding the dog with sticky fixers to give it more of
a 3D effect.
The paper is DCWV, Nana's Nursery, Baby Girl.

Together Forever

Hello everyone,
just a quick post this morning,
before I have to tackle the
European Ironing Mountain!
This is my entry for this week's 'Wedding' challenge,
over at Digital Tuesday.
I got to try out my new digital stamp from
Pollycraft
and one of my new charms from
The Hobby House.
I'm not sure how to attach these charms yet,
I went for ribbon here, but found it a bit fiddly to do.

Recipe: Pollycraft Digital Stamp - Promise Collection,
coloured with whispers pens.
DP: Papermania - Blueberry Hill
Quote - DCWV Rub on quote stack - Love

My last GD spot at Funky Fairys

Morning everyone,
here is my project for my second week as Guest Designer at
Funky Fairys.
This week's challenge is 'Babies'

I have used my all time favourite Funky Fairys paper,
part of the 'Cherish' set
available at
Funky Fairys Papercrafts

I made those cute little baby booties from the paper
and added a little flower.
The mini Photo Album was my bargain buy - 49p from Tesco.
I covered it with the same paper and added some
curling ribbon and cut the letters with sizzix dies.
For the card, I found that lovely saying on the net
and printed it out on my comp.
I used the same ribbon and punched the flowers from the paper,
adding card candy in the centres.
The little pearl heart was from my stash.

Party Dog

Hello everyone,
hope you are all refreshed after the
bank holiday weekend.
It's a late post from me today,
as I have been helping my daughter revise for an anatomy exam!
Not sure I was a whole lot of help.. lol*

This is my card for the sketch over at
Sketch and Stash Challenge.
This is a really great sketch and one that I think I will use often.
The new stash on my card is the cute 'Wilbur' -
one of my new digital stamps from
I have come across some great doggy cards recently,
so when I saw this cute guy I just had to have him.
Recipe:
Digital stamp - Pollycraft,
coloured with whispers pens.

but then I'd have to shoot you!!!

I have made this lovely
Lemon Drizzle Cake.
It's very easy and smells delicious.
I thought I'd better take a picture of it,
before it's devoured.
The recipe is from BBC Good Food

Look at this wonderful candy that new challenge blog,
Stampin' for the Weekend'

All you have to do, to be in with a winning chance,

:-)

Simon Says Challenge

Afternoon everyone,
hope you are enjoying the little bit of sunshine we have.
This morning my 18 year old daughter, finally stumbled
upon the washing machine and, with barely half an hours instruction,
managed to get it working!!
She's a smart girl ;-)
Tomorrow will be 'Ironing for Beginners'.
I managed to get some crafting done,
and have made this card for the
Simon Says Challenge,
which is a wonderful sketch from Iris.
Recipe: Stamps from the new WOJ Summer Collection,
coloured with whispers pens.
Design Paper: DCWV Nursery, Baby Girl
I punched the flowers from the design paper
and stuck them on with a sticky pad, to give them a more 3D look.
Then, of course, I dabbed a bit of stickles glitter around.

Guest Designer Spot at Funky Fairys

Morning everyone,
I am excited to show you today,
my first project as Guest Designer over at Funky Fairys.
The theme this week is
'Buttons and Circles'
But, it seems that blogger will not let me play and upload my pics
:-(
I will try another way,
so fingers crossed that something actually appears..
lol**
(Edit: Well the pics have shown up but they are cut off a bit,
so if you just click on them you will get to the full pic.
I do not want to tinker anymore, incase the whole thing disappears...
lol*)
As you can see ( I hope!!),
I have made a little file box for special dates.
A quick flip through the cards for that month
will remind me of all the cards I need to make.

I started by making an open box and covered it with
Funky Fairys 'Cherish' paper
and then embellished it with ribbon, buttons and die cut letters.

For each month,
I covered pieces of card in different papers from
Funky Fairys 'Cherish' and 'Simply Swirly' sets,
and added a small calendar.
For the tabs I used die cut circles.

I think I might circle in red, on the calendar,
each special day. Then I will be able to see, at a glance,
just how busy my card making for that month
is going to be.

The Next Level

This is an exciting new concept from
Dawn (All Pink Girl) and Madgesty ( Love to Create).
They are setting up a new challenge blog,
with the aim of bringing us information, hints and tips on all sorts of
crafting techniques.
I can't wait for this.
Can you remember the very first time you posted on your blog?
It wasn't that long ago for me and I hadn't a clue what I was doing
(still don't...lol**)
Well, I emailed Dawn, and she got right back to me
and was just so nice and friendly and helpful.
I wish her all the best with this new blog.

June 1st is launch day,
and you could be in with a chance to win some fantastic blog candy,
so please check it out.

Envelope note and voucher holder thingy!!!

I apologise in advance for the rubbish photos of this project.
I think I tried every room in the house, before taking it outside
and you can see I had a little help in the blustery conditions!!!

This is my entry for this week's
Funky Fairy's Challenge,
which is ' Flowers and Bling'
I stuck some envelopes onto a piece of stiff card,
and added ribbon, at the top, to hang it up.
Then I covered the envelopes with Funky Fairys, Simply Swirly paper.
( I also used a slightly different shade of the paper to cover the
inside bit of the envelope that shows)
I used my nesties to put everyone's name on an envelope -
and decorated it with ribbon, flowers and pearls.
I have this hanging in my kitchen and it's a great little place
to put vouchers and small notes for the family.
The good thing about it is, that you can add as many envelopes as you need
and decorate it to match your own kitchen.
My hubby EVEN let me bang a nail in the wall to hang it up..
lol**

Kimono Card

I don't think I've ever made a different shaped card before,
but when I saw this challenge over at
Digital Tuesday,
I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
I made a Kimono shaped card, inspired by my new
Japanese Dollies from
Craftwork Cards.

The design paper is Papermania, Raspberry Champagne
and the sentiment and card candy are also from Craftwork Cards.
Ribbon and brad are from my stash.

Cherry Kisses

Big hugs to Pollycraft, who generously emailed me this
download and some papers, from their new design -
'Cherry Kisses'.
Isn't she cute?
Check out their website for more designs.

This card was made with the fab sketch over at
Sketch & Stash Challenge.
The new stash that I used is the digital stamp
and the blue lace.
I must admit that I do struggle with
colouring digital stamps, the printer ink just runs no matter what I do.
I have heard of an inkjet fixing spray that I might have to try.
There are too many cute digital images out there for me to give up
on them :-)
Design Paper is Papermania, Sweet Nothings.

Mum's the word !

This week's Stamptacular challenge is a card for Mum.
As Mother's Day has been and gone here in the UK,
I made this for my Mum's birthday, in a couple of weeks time.
She doesn't like fussy, so I tried to hold back on the embellies -
that was tough...lol**
and I used her fav. colours.
Recipe: Stamp is WOJ Spring Collection,
coloured with whispers pens.
Swirls are Sizzix Dies.
Design Paper is Papermania - Nostalgia Warm.
Pearl brads are Papermania,
and blooms and ribbon are from my stash.

Card File

Well, my first 3D project of the day
ended up in the bin...
with much gnashing of teeth and a few choice words!!
Then I came across a tut for this 'card file'
and thought it would be a great idea for the 'flowers',
Secret Crafter Challenge.
If you need inspiration for this challenge
check out the fabulous work of the DT.

I followed the excellent tutorial from Blythe,
which 4" x 6" cards fit into.

I used the gorgeous, downloadable 'cherish'
design papers from Funky Fairys
and a punch to make the flowers.

Happy Bank Holiday Weekend

Hello everyone,
hope you are all enjoying the weekend
and have some of the sunshine that has come our way.
I feel very lazy today,
unlike most people in this neighbourhood,
I am neither washing the car, nor mowing the lawn!!
:-)
Instead, I have made this card for the
Funky Fairys Challenge.
It's a brilliant sketch, designed by Joanne,
which has given me the chance to use some of my new
'card candy' and sentiments from
Craftwork Cards.
The gorgeous design papers are from
Funky Fairys 'Cherish' set,
and the stamp is Penny Black.
I have added Glossy Accents on the balloons, to make them shiny,
and dabbed a little bit of glitter here and there.
