Cupcake Craft Challenge

This week's Cupcake Craft Challenge is a fabulous sketch,
from Lauren.
Head on over there and check out Lauren's hard work
on the new blog design - a luscious, raspberry cupcake style.
Great work Lauren. xxx
I just managed to squeeze in making a card this morning,
before I have to do some stripping!!

(paint stripping a fireplace - what were you thinking?? )
Card recipe:
Magnolia - Sweetheart Tilda stamp, coloured with whispers pens.
Design Papers - Paper Cellar Celebrations
Sentiment - Craftwork Cards
Ribbon - Poppicrafts

Double Challenge

Hello,
I have suprised myself today,
I have managed to combine 2 challenges in one card.
A great sketch from Stamp Something,
and stitching from Secret Crafter
It was a party night last night, and I awoke this morning
to little men with hammers, runing riot inside my head!
So, I am amazed that my stitching is anywhere near straight.
The stamp is Magnolia - Guitar Edwin,
coloured with whispers pens.
Design paper is Dovecraft - Masculine
and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

Monsters

This week's theme at Cupcake Craft Challenges is
'Monsters'.
This was a tricky one for me..
my stamps are all cutesy, girly things..
lol*
I finally found this image of Nessie on a clipart CD,
which I coloured with whispers pens and cut out.
The design papers are Papermania - Rich Green
and I made the sentiment on the computer.

My husband says....

Ha ha..
I had great fun making this card for Creative Inspirations
'humerous' challenge.
Pop on over there and see their great design team projects.
I used one of my new Magnolia stamps -
this one is Flower Power Tilda -
coloured in with whispers pens.
I dug deep into my craftbox for everything else -
the papers were freebies from a craft magazine
and I have had some of those little bags for ages,
and never knew quite what to do with them.
Now, I better hide this card before hubby gets home..
lol**

Sketch Saturday #43

Here's my entry for Sketch Saturday.
It's a great sketch this week and it has given me chance to
have a play with another of my new Magnolia stamps.
This is Tilda with puppy.
This card is for my daughter's birthday,
so I am really pleased with how cute it turned out. The stamp was coloured in with whispers pens,
design paper is Papermania - Sweet Nothings
and blooms are from Poppicrafts

Charisma Cardz Sketch

Hello,
well, what happened to all that lovely spring sunshine?
It's cold and windy here today -
so a day indoors, crafting, sounds like a good idea.
Here's my entry for Charisma Cardz Thursday Challenge
It's a great sketch from Joanne -
can you believe that this is her first sketch?
Hope to see many more Joanne.

This is my very first Magnolia stamp - isn't it cute?
They have a great selection of them over at The Glitter Pot
I ordered from them last week and my stamps arrived the very next day.
The stamp is coloured with whispers pens and
the design paper is Dovecraft - Masculine

Brown + 1

This week's challenge over at Cupcake Crafts
is a colour one.
You can choose from Pink & Brown, Pink & Blue,
or Pink & Green.
Green is my favourite colour, so that's the one I picked.
I know it doesn't look very green, but that's down to the fading evening light.
The papers are in fact, a really lovely soft, olive colour.

The papers (Cherish) and owls are from Funky Fairys
These are downloads and you really should check them out,
they have some lovely collections.
The blooms and leaves are from Poppicrafts
and brown candy dots from Craftwork Cards
I also used twinkling H2O's on the owls wings,
but the camera hasn't really picked up the glittery effect very well.

Have Your Cake And Eat It!

This is the great new challenge over at
Secret Crafters
I was trying out a new cupcake recipe today,
so I used that as inspiration for my card.

I used my favourite design papers - K & Company Classic.
I paper pieced the cupcake, using a template that was free
in Easter's issue of Simply Cards and Papercrafts.
The blooms are from Poppicrafts and the sentiment
and card candy dots are from Craftwork Cards

The coffee cupcakes are delicious and very easy to make.
The recipe included walnuts, but all I could find was a bag
of pecans at the back of the cupboard.
I don't think I will get any complaints about that though, lol*
If you want to try them yourself the recipe is
at Good Food

Something for the guys

This week's challenge at Charisma Cardz is
'Something for the guys'
Here's my entry.
I needed to make a 60th birthday card for someone
without making it too cutesy!
I used this week's great sketch from Cute Card Thursday.

The design papers are Dovecraft - Masculine
and the golf bag was from a card making CD

Funky Fairys Challenge #7

It's a great challenge over at Funky Fairys this week,
you have to create a
DOORHANGER
Pop over there and have a look at the great design team work.
Don't forget that on your project you must use
at least 1 funky fairys product-
available at
Funky Fairys Papercrafts

For this challenge I made a fun doorhanger
for my daughter's room at Uni.
It has a circle , attached by a brad,
that she can turn to show different messages,
depending on what she's doing.
Don't look too closely at that circle - I had to cut it out -
and didn't realise how bad it was until it was all attached.
Paper is Funky Fairys 'Swirls'.
Stamp is Whiff Of Joy coloured with whispers pens.
Blooms and ribbon are from Poppicrafts

Papertake Challenge

This week the Papertake Challenge
is a great sketch from Dawny.

No cute stamps were used,
during the making of this card!

I had a good rummage in the bottom of my craft box,
for this challenge.
I came up with some decoupage sheets -
(the country diary of an edwardian lady)
that were a freebie from a craft magazine.
I never thought I would use these,
they're not really my style,
but I am pleased with the results.

The background paper is K & Co Classic,
and I added Glossy Accents and Stickles to the decoupage sheets.

Cupcake Challenge 30

Hello,

this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge, set by Rosette is
'Spring'

So what better stamp to use on my card than
this cute little sheep from Penny Black - Fresh New Day,
coloured with whispers pens.
The background paper is 'Swirls' from Funky Fairys
and the flowery paper is K & Co, Sparkly Sweet.
I tried to add stitching to the flowery paper by running it through
my sewing machine -
but all that twisting and turning, just made it tear.
So, I pricked holes in the paper with a needle and hand stitched
some of the flowers and stems.

Cute Card Thursday #50

Over at Cute Card Thursday,
the challenge is
'Food and Drink'

Ahhhh... my specialist subject lol**
I decided to do something a little different
and I made a package for some home-made fruit and nut bars.
I put the bars into a cellophane bag and attached my card to the top.
I used Papermania Rich Yellow papers
and the stamp is from the Penny Black -
Fresh New Day, set.
The blooms and ribbon were from my stash. The fruit and nut bars are very easy to make,
they are packed with oats, walnuts, raisins, cranberries, apricots
and sesame seeds.
They would be great for lunch boxes etc.
If anyone wants the recipe, just email me.

Charisma Cardz Challenge 9

Hello,
it's my first time over at Charisma Cardz
and this week their challenge is
'Pretty cards for Mum'
If you want some inspiration
check out their excellent DT work.

My card uses one of the gorgeous Whiff Of Joy stamps,
from the spring collection -
coloured with whispers pens and stickles.
I used my favourite papers from K & Company (Classic)
The cute little heart brad was in my prize stash,
from Creative Inspirations.
I found those dried roses at the bottom of my craft box -
and thought they just went perfectly with the paper.
You can't quite see on the picture,
but the letters are covered with glossy accents,
to give them a lovely shine.

Favourite Somethings

This week's challenge over at Stamp Something
is to create a project inspired by your favourite something.
My project uses my favourite stamps,
my favourite papers and one of my favourite things -
scented candles.

This was my very first attempt at putting stamped images on candles,
and I am amazed at how easy it was to do.
I have a feeling everyone will be getting
stamped candles next christmas...
lol*

These were rose scented candles I picked up for £4 each at Matalan,
I added the stamped Whiff of Joy image,
the name, and some ribbon.
Then I wrapped them in a cellophane bag and added more ribbon.
(Excuse the terrible photo, the light is not good today.)

The card is made using the same Whiff Of Joy stamps,
and my favourite papers right now -
K & Company, Classic,
with brad and blooms from my stash.

Funky Fairys Challenges #6

The theme for this week's challenge at
Funky Fairys
is
BLUE
There is a great prize this week.
Not only is a gorgeous downloadable paper kit up for grabs,
but there is also a stunning clock,
made by Emma.
My card uses the fabulous new freebie download
of cupcake papers over at
Funky Fairys Inspirations Blog
(get it quick, as it's only available for a few days)
The cupcake was coloured with whispers pens,
glossy accents and stickles.
The background 'swirls' paper is also Funky Fairys.
Blooms and brads were from my stash.

Cupcake Craft Challenge 29

Over at Cupcake Craft this week,
the challenge has been set by Jilly.
You can make anything you like,
but your inspiration must come from
the picture that Jilly has chosen.
Make sure you pop by Jilly's Creations and look at her awesome work too.

Instead of making a card, I decided that today I would alter the
coffeemate can, that has been sitting on my draining board for a week.
I covered it with 'flourishes' paper, from Pink Petticoat
ribbon and blooms from my stash,
and the cute, little stamp is from the
Whiff Of Joy spring collection.

Another first for me today,
and it's the Saturday Challenge over at
Secret Crafter

This week's theme is TRANSPORT
You can make any project as long as it relates to this theme,
and all entries go into a prize draw.
Have a look at the excellent DT projects
for inspiration.

My card uses a stamp from the Woodware Playtime set
coloured with whispers pens.
The papers are Dovecraft - Masculine.
The sentiment came from Cardmakers Instant Card Art
The brad was from a swap (thankyou Jackie xxx )

I've just noticed that the sentiment actually says

Hmmm... what can I do about that?
Answers on a postcard....
:-)
