Weekend Chocolate Fix

I am not known for my baking skills,
but even I managed to make this very easy
Okay, so it stuck to the tin a bit when I was getting it out,
but that just gave me an excuse to try the crumbs.
Apparently, it's best eaten on the same day it's made ~
I don't think that's gonna be a problem,
do you?

Funky Fairys Challenges #5

Hello, it's my first time over at
Funky Fairys Challenges
and this week the theme is
"Swirls"
All you need to do to enter
is use at least 1 Funky Fairys Papercraft item,
on your design.
I used the fabulous "Swirls" paper which is one of their
generous free downloads.
Get it from their Inspirational Blog.
Check out the Funky Fairys webshop too,
where they have wonderful papers, images and stamps for sale.
I also used a Whiff of Joy stamp from the spring collection,
coloured with whispers pens and stickles glitter.
The blooms are from Poppicrafts and the
cute, little flower buttons I found in my local
fabric shop.

Mojo Monday Week 75

Here's my entry for this week's brilliant sketch
over at
There are some really beautiful cards from the Mojo Makers
if you want some inspiration.

I decided to put my sunglasses on and go for bright papers.
These papers were freebies from Simply Cards and Papercrafts.
I like free :-)

The cute hedgehog is from the
Penny Black Critter Party set.
I cut the balloon out and attached it with some 3D foam.
The stamp is coloured with whispers pens
and on the balloon I used twinkling H2O's and stickles.
The sentiment is from Craftworkcards

Papertake Challenge

This week the challenge over at Papertake Weekly,
is a great sketch from Dawny #9
Pop on over there and check out the fab
creations from the design team.
For this challenge I had another play with my new
Spring collection Whiff Of Joy stamps.
I even managed to cut this one out, with my craft knife,
with no damage to any of my fingers!
I coloured the stamp with whispers pens
and the paper is from the Dovecraft Masculine set.

Cupcake Craft Challenge 28

Here's my entry for the great sketch over at
This week the challenge is sponsored by The Cutting Cafe
and the DT have done a fantastic job with the
All about Cupcakes set from there.

For my card I used my new Whiff Of Joy Stamp ~
coloured with whispers pens and twinkling H2O's.
The patterned paper is from K & Company Sparkly Sweet,
and the pink check is from Papercraft4you.
The blooms are from Poppicrafts

I cut out the stamp -
nobody warned me how tricky that was going to be!
and I used foam tape to stick it onto the card.
I love the raised effect it gives you,
I guess I am going to have to practice my cutting skills.

Pancake Day

How do you like yours?
Here's a little gift I put together for my girls.
I found the cute, cupcake tea towels at Matalan - a bargain at £4 a set.
I rolled 2 of them together, and tied the other one around them.
This created a little pocket, that I filled with Pancake mix, golden syrup,
a whisk and lemon juice.
I made a little card with bits and bobs from my stash
and free paper from Simply Cards and Papercraft.
Have a Happy Pancake Day

Pomegranatini

Is it the weekend yet??
Here's a little gift I put together to get
that weekend party started.
Vodka, a cocktail shaker, pomegranate juice,
and there's an orange in there somewhere too.
That's got to add up to at least 2 of your 5 a day hasn't it?

Sour Cream Containers

Aren't these just the cutest things?

The February challenge on Pink Petticoat's Blog,
is to make some of these
adorable sour cream containers.
Head on over there, follow Liz's great step-by-step instructions and check
out what Liz and the other entrants have made.
Remember to use some of Pink Petticoats papers.
I used Little Big Dots Papers.
I filled the pouches with chocolate eggs
and the fronts are decorated with edible cake decorations -
stuck on with a dab of icing sugar.
I have a feeling I will be making lots more of these.
They will be perfect for litle Easter gifts.

Mojo Monday Week 74

Wow!
2 posts in one day ~ are you impressed?
I just couldn't resist giving the new sketch on Mojo Monday a try.
As usual, it's a great sketch
and there's some gorgeous work from the design team to check out.

Here's my card. The stamp is from See D's Piece of Cake set.
I used Glossy Accents on the filling and icing,
and tried really hard to show you that glossy effect on the photo.
If you click on the picture, the larger image does show it a little better.
The paper is Papermania Simply Elegant
and the ribbon and bloom are from my stash.

Cute Card Thursday

Here's my entry for Challenge 47, over at
Cute Card Thursday

The theme this week is music and dance,
so go and check out the great cards by the design team for some inspiration.

I thought this card would be great for someone passing their driving test.
The 'I like driving in my car' is from the Madness song.
I used the cute Taxi design and Little Big Dots backing paper
from Pink Petticoat

I also got a chance to try out my new Glossy Accents,

that I got from The Stamp Bug.
It's a 3D clear gloss, that dries to a hard, shiny finish...
perfect for the car's paintwork.

It was hard to photo, but you can just about make out how shiny it is.

Chocolate Challenge

Hello,
now, this is my kind of project.. lol**
Over at Stamp Something
they have a 'Something Chocolate' challenge.
So you need to create something with chocolate in mind.
Not too hard for those of us who always have chocolate in mind.

Check out the gorgeous designs by the DT
and I can't wait to see the challenge entries.

Here's my project.
Valentine Heart Biscuits dipped in Dark Chocolate.
I made the cookies with a basic cookie recipe and then
dipped them in dark chocolate and wrapped them in cellophane bags,
tied with ribbon.
I cut the lid off a plain white box and used a strip of card,
fastened at each end with brads, as a handle.
The boxes are decorated with papers that were free from craft magazines,
and ribbons and blooms from my stash.
The little hedgehog stamp is from the transparent Penny Black Bubbly set.

And of course, as quality control I got to sample several cookies before I
decided they were ok

Have a Happy Valentine's Day everyone

Creative Inspirations Challenge 2

This week's challenge over at Creative Inspirations is
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Your project must contain nothing new.
Head on over there to look at the great DT projects
and the other challenge entries.
The prize is the wonderful new CD Teentastique,
from Ooh-la-la-creations

This was a fun challenge to do and my entry is a Thankyou card.
The card I used was all scrap.
The lemon and blue gingham material is left over from last weekend's project,
which you can see further down my blog.
The buttons I cut off hubby's shirt...... lol* (old shirts, of course).
The stamp was a freebie from Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.
The blue checked paper was a freebie from another mag
and I found the paper clip, lurking at the bottom of a drawer.

Gingham Bags

Here's what I have been up to this weekend.

I have made four of these pretty, gingham shoulder bags.
I am really pleased with them.
It's been ages since I did any sewing and I just had one, ready-made bag to try and copy.

So, what are these bags for?
Well, after surgery for breast cancer,
some people will have a plastic tube sewn into place,
which drains any fluid which might accumulate, into a small drainage bag.
As you can imagine this can be quite uncomfortable and awkward.
Putting the drainage bag into one of these little cloth bags,
that go over your head,
just helps to support it and allows you move around a bit easier.
Lets face it.. it also looks a lot nicer.

So these bags are going to the local hospital.

Snow Fun

No crafting today,
but I just couldn't resist showing you the picture
of my little Suzie
enjoying herself in the snow.
It's a winter wonderland to her and she can't wait to get out there and
chase snowballs, as I get dressed up like the michelin man.

there was nothing for it today, but to stay indoors. and keep warm.
